What you're getting into

Solitaire was the game.
Now it's the ritual.

Arcane Solitaire takes the rules you already know — play cards one rank apart, clear the tableau, survive the stock — and bends them into a roguelike descent through five darkening acts. Every run is a different sequence of nodes, modifiers, events, and bosses. Every choice at the shop, the shrine, and the forge reshapes what your deck can do. The game rewards chain discipline and pattern-reading. It punishes greed and hesitation equally.

✦ Chain system
Every consecutive card played without drawing from stock extends your chain. Longer chains multiply score and trigger rune effects. Break the chain and start over. Learning the deck's rhythm is the whole game.
🗺️ Node map
After each board you choose your next node. Visit the forge, the shop, a shrine, a random event, or a treasure. Bosses end every act. There is no path that avoids them.
🃏 Rune upgrades
Inscribe runes onto cards in your deck. Arcane Reach widens a card's playable range. Twin Soul clears the card above it. Gilded pays out on long chains. Five rune types, building a deck that matches how you play.
☠ Cursed cards
Events offer power in exchange for corruption. Modifiers seed cursed cards into the deck — marked in purple, unplayable dead weight. Pay the forge to purge them or carry the burden to the end.

Five acts of descent

Each act ends with a boss.
Each boss changes the rules.

Boss boards come with conditions that don't appear anywhere else. Prepare for them or don't — the option is yours.

I
The Veil
The bottom two cards of every column are dealt face-down. They reveal only when the card above them is gone.
II
Ember Tide
Random cards are sealed and unplayable for four turns. Time it wrong and the board locks you out.
III
Mirror Curse
Score is doubled — but five cursed cards are already in the deck when the board starts.
IV
Collapse
Six fewer stock cards. Timer cut to 90 seconds. The run's resources have run nearly dry.
V
★ Oblivion — Final Act
All negative modifiers active at once. This is what everything before it was preparing you for.

What the board throws at you

Modifiers stack. Runs diverge.

From Act 2 onward, boards carry modifiers. By Act 5 you're managing several simultaneously.

🌫 Fog of War
Buried cards are dealt face-down. They reveal only when uncovered. You play on instinct until the column opens up.
⛓ Chain Tax
Every stock draw costs 5 gold. Your chain breaks and you pay for it. Bleed gold long enough and the shop becomes unreachable.
💀 Crumbling Stock
Every four draws, a stock card is permanently discarded. The deck shrinks while the tableau waits.
☠ Plague Tide
Every six plays, a random exposed card becomes cursed. The corruption spreads unless you can outrun it.
💰 Gold Rush
All gold earned this board is doubled. The run offers a windfall — take it and prepare for what's ahead.
🔥 Burnout
Timer cut to 90 seconds. All gold and score at ×1.5. High pressure, high return. Choose your moves fast.

Build your run

The deck evolves.
So does the run.

Runes, suit powers, relics, and the forge combine into a run that belongs entirely to this attempt.

🔮 Rune inscriptions
Five rune types, each bound to a single card and active for the whole run. Arcane Reach, Swiftfoot, Gilded, Twin Soul — the right combination turns a standard deck into something the board can't contain.
♠ ♥ ♦ ♣ Suit powers
Once per board, each suit can trigger its power. Void Step plays any card as a wildcard. Root Weave swaps two exposed cards. Blood Pact rewards clearing full columns. Ember Rush turns stock draws into income.
🔍 Relics
Passive bonuses that persist across every board. The Magnifying Glass reveals buried cards at board start. The Mirror Shard retries a failed board, no life lost. Carry up to four at once.
⚒ The forge
Upgrade eligible cards or purge cursed ones permanently. Each forge visit is a question about what the deck needs to survive the next act.
🎭 Random events
The Cardsharp offers an upgrade at the price of two cursed cards. The Wayward Gambler stakes 120 gold on a coin flip. The Ancient Tome gives upgrade points for free. Every event is a trade; none of them are neutral.
✨ Eternal Vault
Earn Eternal Ink across every run. Spend it on permanent unlocks — Joker wildcards, an extra starting life, expanded upgrade drafts, and Ascension modes for those who want the run harder than it already is.
